Response to When to use autosuggestion.

I hope this is helpfull. Everyone is more or less hypnotizable according to the amount of stressors that are present in your life at any given time. More stress equals more distracting thoughts and probably more mental chatter to interupt the state of "focused awareness" that you should be in when you practice your auto-suggestions. However, in the absence of a competent hypnotist to guide you, you can take advantage of the wave nature of consciousness and what are known as "circadian (daily) and ultradian (more than once a day)" rhythms. Ultradian rhythms refer to what are roughly 90 minute oscillating cycles where we change cognative styles of mental activity. Basicly these are times of the day (or night) that we switch dominant hemispheres. Several clinical studies have also shown that daily "nasal cycle's" can be shown to mimic this respnose. So, to make what could become a very, very long story short try this. The next time that you decide to experiment with auto suggestion take about 15 minutes and lie down on your right side. When you do this you'll find your left nostril becomes clear (un-congested) this should shift your natural cycle into right brain hemispheric dominance, then sit up straight with your arms and legs un-crossed. Do whatever inner work your planning to do then lie on your left side for about five minutes to start shifting you back into left brain dominance, this reverse state shift is improtant(if your going to do it, you might as well do it right). This is probably one of the easiest ways to create a state of receptiveness to suggestion and or visualisation for your future inner work.
Good Luck and Prosperious Dreams.
